It was yesterday, when things were not-so-difficult

This post is in regards to the startup companies and entrepreneurs with an idea, or a product.

Today getting done is not so difficult task. What’s more important is WHAT and HOW to get it done so that you don’t do it wrong.

In the earlier times, doing things was of more importance as there were very less, or almost nothing existing. So it was a necessity of making or building something quick, however it was, whatever features it had, they just knew one thing ‘Just Do It’. Making better things or with less errors, or with variety of great features, big and large, weren’t into pictures as things were developed for first times so it was important to first try if the basic works and only then to get your hands dirty completely into it making the product or company larger and feature-ful.

But today the scenario is completely different. Every product, every industry, there are thousands of competitors already sitting in the market before you, having more experience than you, and thus having more capital than you, making your chances very narrow to follow the same industry. So if you follow the old-times and try to just make something, than you should simply just forget it, unless what you have in mind does not exists in the world YET!. Don’t want to give up? Then you still got a chance. Create something that is far far far (note 3 times) more better and inventive than the older guys, because if you make something just 1X better, they still have that much capacity to overtake you or your product (they have got larger teams, money, market share, etc than you.) So better come up with something better, better planned, better strategies, better recovery strategies (in case your product doesn’t show up well with the consumers), and a better you.

Are you going on a field work?

Go early. Don’t be lazy, get up late, get ready, fresh, prepared. Enlist all the to-dos, and mark each which gets completed. Keep a track of everything, and a track on your watch. The more you waste time, your productivity decreases. If you go late, you won’t be able to complete all the things that you hoped you wanted to, and so you will have to waste another day for the same thing. You never know how much time would 1 task take you. For eg., if you have to go to a far-way market, you should go early so you can actually enjoy shopping and you would really have a lot of time to do that, if you go late, you would just get the left out plus the late the crowd. When you know you have to go and do it, why not do your best? so sleep early the previous day, get up early, and remember the goals. Because you have to be productive at the end of the day.

Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus

Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus

Two women friends chatting in office:

Woman 1: I had a fine evening, how was yours?

Woman 2: It was a disaster. My husband came home, ate his dinner in three minutes and fell asleep in two minutes. How was yours?

Woman 1: Oh it was amazing! My husband came home and took me out to a romantic dinner. After dinner we walked for an hour. When we came home he lit the candles around the house and afterwards talked for an hour. It was like a fairytale!

At the same time, their husbands are talking at work.

Husband 1: How was your evening?

Husband 2: Great. I came home, dinner was on the table, I ate and fell asleep. It was great! What about you?

Husband 1: It was horrible. I came home, there’s no dinner because they cut the electricity because I hadn’t paid the bill; so I had to take my wife out to dinner which was so expensive that I didn’t have money left for a cab. We had to walk home which took an hour; and when we got home remember there was no electricity so I had to light candles all over the house! After all, I was so aggravated that I couldn’t fall asleep and my wife was jabbering away for another hour!

It took me 18 hours for just one glance

Yes, this statue is of world famous Ganpati “Lalbaug cha Raja” (located in Lalbaug, Mumbai). Lakhs of people come everyday to have a glance of this murti (Statue). Why is it so famous? Well, not just for its giant size or a cool picture, but because mostly everyone in India believes in him, and to make a wish that they believe he will listen to their prayers and fulfill them soon. And that is why he is called “Wish fulfilling” which draws yards long queues everyday during the 11 day festival that is celebrated around the city (and country).

And so even I thought to give him a visit to see his elegance, which took me 18 complete hours in the queue (first time ever in my whole life I ever stood in this long queue). Can you believe? 18 hours in a queue? Yes that’s true. 18 hours sounds lesser for people who have waited for more than 24 hours for a glance and touch his feet. It was a great experience, with 4 friends, and I hope he fulfills mine wishes too 😉

Do you have an ‘Email’?

A jobless man applied for the position of ‘office boy’ at Microsoft. The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a test. ‘You are employed.’

He said.’ Give me your e-mail address and I’ll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start.’ The man replied ‘But I don’t have a computer, neither an email.’ I’m sorry’, said the HR manager, ‘If you don’t have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn’t exist, cannot have the job.’

The man left with no hope at all. He didn’t know what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg tomato crate. He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours, he succeeded to double his capital. He repeated the Operation three times, and returned home with $60. The man realized that he can survive by this Way, and started to go everyday earlier, and return late Thus, his money doubled or tripled every day. Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles. 5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US.

He started to plan his family’s future, and decided to have a life insurance. He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan. When the conversation was concluded, the broker asked him his email. The man replied, ‘I don’t have an email’. The broker answered curiously, ‘You don’t have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an email?!!’

The man thought for a while and replied, ‘Yes, I’d be an office boy at Microsoft!’

M1 – Internet is not the solution to your life.
M2 – If you don’t have internet, and work hard, you can be a millionaire.
M3 – If you received this message by email, you too are compromising your real capabilities for a petty security.

Reviving art with Pencils

Artists who create beautiful artworks using pencils can’t surprise us nowadays. But Dalton Ghetti found a way how to create miniature masterpieces using pencils. He simply carved the alphabet on the tips of 26 pencils, making letters come alive.
